Day Twelve

Wishing Rico's was having a free food day.

Wishing Rico's was giving away food.

I’m exhausted. I have a headache. I lost another pound. I wish there was more to report.

On the upside though…we recieved more donations yesterday than all other days combined. It’s pretty amazing that so many of you are reading, sharing, and donating. I keep hearing stories from readers about who they send this project on to, and it has reminded me of just how small our human community is. Even with 6.6 billion people on the planet, we are connected in ways unknown to us until something powerful comes along and shines bright enough to burn through. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Thank you for what you do in your lives to make the world a better place. Your work and your thoughtfulness are absolutely necessary if we are to co-exist peaceably.

This coming Monday I’m going to call the Community Resource Center and the ONE campaign to let them know about this project. My hope is that they will send it to their networks and that maybe we can find a donor who will match your efforts.

I keep thinking about all the foods I wish to eat, but knowing that your interest and support of this project continues to grow, I feel obligated to continue. While we didn’t originally plan to raise money while doing this, we certainly have, and that alone makes this worth it. If eating on beans and rice for a month will help feed people in our community, it’s well worth it.

Forward march!

– Christopher

So for two days in a row, for one of you a slice of store bought bread and 1 T pbr costs .10; for the other .20. Why?

Why didn’t you guys eat more on days like this? You could have easily gotten some fruits or veggies in here with the extra 60¢ you guys had to spend…
